Park district agrees to move forward on Homewood Estates Park

The Homewood Arts Council will lease the village auditorium for art events and activities starting in the fall.

A lease between the village and the HAC was approved at the Aug. 10 board meeting. It will allow the HAC to use the auditorium for one year, furthering its mission in supporting local artists and exposing the community to arts and culture.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
