Six ice sculptures created by Nadeau’s Ice Sculptures appeared in downtown Homewood on Sunday morning, the latest addition to the village’s pandemic-safe holiday activities.

Visitors can stop at the corner of Ridge Road and Martin Avenue to obtain a brochure that lists the locations of each sculpture and go on a self-guided tour.

Nadeau’s ice artisans have for years provided sculpting demonstrations at Homewood’s big winter festival, Holiday Lights. The event was canceled this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Homewood Events Manager Allisa Opyd said the village still wanted to provide the community with an opportunity to enjoy the tradition.

With sculptures spread out and available for people to admire in their own time rather than at a big gathering, the display adds to the enjoyment of the season while maintaining pandemic safety.
