HFHS board hires superintendent search firm

The District 233 school board met in special session Friday, Dec. 6, to hire the search firm BWP & Associates to help find a new superintendent. The contract is for $18,900.

After 12 years in the job, Superintendent Von Mansfield will be retiring in June 2022.

The board conducted a special meeting Nov. 30 to interview three of the firm’s partners. They outlined a timetable that is expected to find candidates by February for interviews.

The board hopes to hire a new person in May with the title of assistant superintendent to work side-by-side with Mansfield during his last year in the job. Upon his retirement, the new person would officially become District 233 superintendent.

Following the timetable presented by BWP, the search will begin immediately. Interviews will begin with board members and stakeholders as a BWP search committee begins advertising the position.
