Local voter registration drive Monday

Local representatives from the League of Women Voters will be outside near the front entrance of Homewood-Flossmoor High School’s North Building, 800 Governors Highway, on Monday, Sept. 21, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to register those who will be age 18 or older on or before Nov. 3. 

There’s still time to register in person to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 3 presidential election.

Local representatives from the League of Women Voters will be outside near the front entrance of Homewood-Flossmoor High School’s North Building, 800 Governors Highway, on Monday, Sept. 21, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to register those who will be age 18 or older on or before Nov. 3. 

To qualify for voter registration in Illinois, you must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Illinois for at least 30 days. The age requirements are a voter must be at least 18 years old, or turn 18 on or before Nov. 3. Those registering can not be registered to vote in another state.

Persons will need to bring identification with them, including a current and valid photo identification, such as a driver’s license or student ID, a utility bill, a bank statement, a government check, a paycheck, a lease or contract for residence, mail addressed to a voter at current residence, or a government document.

Voters also can register by mail by Oct. 6, or online by Oct. 18 at https://ova.elections.il.gov. Illinois also allows in-person registration at polling places on election day.
