Homewood Police said one driver received a citation in an Aug. 12 crash that left two vehicles disabled in the intersection of Ridge and Reigel roads.
According to Deputy Chief Denise McGrath, the crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. on that Wednesday evening.
A Volkswagen sedan was traveling northbound on Reigel Road, and proceeded to make a left turn onto westbound Ridge Road.
During the turn, the Volkswagen was hit by a Dodge SUV traveling southbound on Reigel Road.
One witness who was jogging along Reigel Road said that before the crash he saw the Volkswagen traveling at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. There is a posted 30 mph speed limit in the area.
McGrath said police issued the driver of the Volkswagen a citation for failing to yield while turning left. That person was also transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
