Homewood resident, actor and playwright Tim Campos will perform his latest one-person silent comedy, “Keep Your Tent Up, Smitty Harbinger,” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, in Irwin Park.

The show, sponsored by the Homewood Public Library, is an uproarious knee-slapping physical comedy that is too funny for words. The silent play, inspired by the great slapstick comedies of the 1920s with a modern sensibility, is fun for all ages.

The protagonist, Smitty Harbinger, goes camping to unwind and to connect with nature. Unfortunately, he is not an experienced camper, and he finds himself struggling to enjoy the great outdoors.

From setting up his tent, fishing and encountering wild animals, this play has a bit of everything that can conceivably go wrong while camping.

The community is invited to come see what all the noise is about as Smitty Harbinger “smitties” everything up!

Because of the pandemic, attendance will be strictly limited based on current guidelines for outdoor gatherings. In order to facilitate physical distance and safety, a portion of the park will be roped out in a grid that allows for walking paths and seating areas.

Each seating area will accommodate up to five members of the same household.
