Two people were injured late Wednesday afternoon in an apparent two-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of 183rd Street, according to Homewood police.
The crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m.
The two people injured were each the drivers and sole occupants of the vehicles involved, which came to rest in a front yard on the south side of the street. The drivers were transported to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries is not yet know, police said.
As of 7 p.m. all lanes of 183rd Street remained closed between Aberdeen Street and Loomis Avenue.
The Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (S.M.A.R.T.) is assisting with the investigation.
