“They are wanting to support us. That has been made clear,” she said. “Response has been very supportive and positive. Many have said we provide a ray of sunshine which just fills me with such gratitude.”

Hours have now shifted to better match new home schedules of Nolen and her employees.

In switching to an all carryout menu, Redbird has started offering family meals for dinner.

“This was one of the easiest shifts for us, thinking about what we could do to help lift off some of the stress for families now finding themselves at home together, all of the time. We post a weekly menu every Sunday evening for the coming week, to help with meal planning.”

All food and beverages are available for carry-out or curbside pick-up. They also partnered with GoodSpeed Cycles early on to offer bicycle delivery of family meals, which can be done as a no-contact option.

“Each day seems to provide new signals of what might be needed or appreciated and so we pay attention to that in order to meet those needs. Planning is rather lucid day to day, so flexibility is really important right now. Some ideas are percolating but too soon to share,” said Nolen. “We continue to approach each day as a new day and find some fun and joy and hopefully share some, as well.”
