At its regular meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 26, the Homewood Board of Trustees will consider an agreement to settle a lawsuit filed against the village. The purchaser of the former Calumet Country Club property, 2136 175th St., filed suit in Cook County Circuit Court to disconnect the property from Homewood.
A statement released by the village today, Thursday, Jan. 21, said the settlement agreement is the culmination of intense negotiations to avoid a trial that would be extremely challenging for Homewood to win. If disconnected, the property owner could annex into the village of Hazel Crest.  . . .
