Janicke replaces former director Robin Latman who resigned from the position. Janicke will fill the role at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.

Her experiences make her a good fit for the position, Superintendent Dana Smith said in a news release.

“We have confidence that she will move right into the role seamlessly and will be an important leader on the district’s administrative team,” Smith said.

Janicke most recently served as the principal of Northeast Elementary School in Evergreen Park District 124. She also served as the director of special education at Villa Park School District 45 and as the district’s special education facilitator.

She earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Olivet Nazarene University and another master’s degree in special education from Saint Xavier University.

Board President Michelle Hoereth said Janicke will help the special education program grow.

“Jackie will be a great addition to the administrative team and a huge support to our amazing special education teachers across the district,” Hoereth said.
