Laughing and dancing amid all that hand washing (and no toilet paper)

On Nov. 21 the Chronicle hosted its first virtual pop-up newsroom, an informal opportunity for readers to stop in and talk. 

The idea is to replicate the old newsroom function of providing a place for readers and reporters to meet and converse about the issues of the day, to discuss coverage and story ideas or just chat. 

The session on Saturay will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Login information below:

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
