Coping with COVID: March 28

Flossmoor library extends closure. Franciscan offers online COVID-19 assessment tool. South Suburban Humane Society provides update.

COVID-19 assessment. Franciscan Health is offering a non-diagnostic online COVID-19 assessment tool. A form prompts for information about symptoms and exposure. Responses will help determine who is eligible for a phone consultation, which helps determine what action to take.

SSHS update. On Friday, South Suburban Humane Society sent out an update that noted its adoption center remains closed, but adoptions can be made by appointment at the Chicago Heights shelter. “In the 11 days leading up to the shelter-in-place directive from the governor, we adopted out 90 pets and sent 99 out to foster! We are truly overwhelmed with gratitude to our community. We may be asked soon to take in pets affected by the COVID-19 crisis and we stand ready to be here for our communities.” Anyone who is interested in being an emergency foster should fill out a foster form.”

Flossmoor Public Library extends closure. Library officials announced Friday that the COVID-19-related closure has been extended, with opening tentatively planned for Monday, April 13, at 9:30 a.m. All programs and meetings are canceled through April 19.
