The Dykstra kids, Karis, left, and Moriah, get recess, even though schools are closed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the family on Olive Road in Homewood took the opportunity to give spring a hint after an overnight snowfall. They built a snowman lounging on the “beach” in their front yard. Their dad, Mark Dykstra, said the snowman, which was decked out in shades and had a beach umbrella and swimming noodles handy, was intended to give spring a big hint. It’s time.
