Occupants of two moving vehicles exchanged gunfire on Sunday evening near Homewood’s border with Hazel Crest.
According to a Homewood Police press release, around 9:30 p.m. on March 8, officers responded to the 2100 block of 175th Street after receiving a report of shots being fired.
Witnesses said a dark-colored vehicle and a light-colored vehicle were both traveling east on 175th Street, when near Butternut Road, the occupants began shooting at each other.
