Green Thumb Saturday gardening series will begin again March 14

Spring weather is very nearly here, and gardeners eager to turn soil will have an opportunity to learn about growing succulents at the first Green Thumb Saturday session of the season on Saturday, March 14. 

The annual series will be in its ninth year in 2020. It is sponsored by the Homewood Tree Committee and the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener Program. Meetings take place from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. in the Homewood village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road.

In addition to the March 14 session, the schedule includes:

  • April 11: Incorporating native plants.
  • May 9: Homewood landscaping projects.
  • June 13: Feng shui in the garden.
  • July 11: Healthy soils.
  • Aug. 8: National landscape design.
  • Sept. 12: Evergreens.
