According to Homewood police, the accident occurred at about 10:42 a.m. when the truck toppled the traffic light pole, which fell across the end of the truck’s trailer. Truck and pole blocked the northbound lanes of Halsted Street just north of Ridge Road, forcing traffic to detour east or west on Ridge.

The road was opened back up at approximately 1:14 p.m., police said.

No one was hurt in the accident, and the only damage was to the traffic light and the truck, which was carrying non-hazardous cargo.
