The crew of volunteers at Recyclepalooza this year was about the same as usual, even though event coordinator Carrie Malfeo had hoped for a fewer people in order to maintain more physical distance.
But everyone who came to Parker Junior High to help on Saturday, Oct. 3, wore masks and gloves and did their best to keep their distance, she said.
People from around the area also showed up in their vehicles in typical numbers early on. The line stretched about a block along Flossmoor Road as drivers waited their turns to drop . . .
