Jarad A. Higgins, known to many as the rapper Juice Wrld, died of from a toxic level of oxycodone and codeine in his body.
In a press release Wednesday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office provided the cause of Higgins' death, and stated it was accidental.
Higgins, a graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, was with his entourage at Midway Airport in the early morning hours of Dec. 8, 2019. They were stopped by federal agents, who later found contraband in their luggage, including codeine cough syrup.
During that time, Higgins began convulsing. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead. He was 21 years old.
