Four young musicians, including one from Flossmoor, will perform a classical music concert for PADS on Sunday, Jan. 19, as part of the MLK Day of Service project.
The free concert will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Flossmoor Community Church, 2218 Hutchison Road in Flossmoor.
The musicians will included Kate Nelson of Flossmoor on violin, Sajdah Muhammed of Chicago on cello, Elinor Detmer of Chicago on violin and Noelle Naito of Baltimore on violin. The four are members of the academy program at the Institue of Music of Chicago.
They will be performing works of Mendelssohn, Bach, Barber and Paganini.
The musicians invite the audience to bring donations of socks, undergarments, jackets and gently used duffle bags and backpacks for PADS guests. Cash donations will help PADS repair the organization's van, which broke down in December.
