Sen. Joyce hosts meeting Tuesday at PSC

Local good news. The rate of new COVID-19 cases has slowed in Homewood and Flossmoor, and there have been no additional deaths reported for either village by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office in the past two months. Homewood has recorded 425 cases since the pandemic began, with eight new cases in the past week. Flossmoor has recorded 190 cases total, with four new cases in the past week.

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
