Homewood’s 2nd Arctic Dip will benefit the H-F Chronicle

Looking for a place school children can learn with others?

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is offering various spaces for rent for families and/or pods of remote learners.

These spaces have access to Wi-Fi, are sanitized following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, and give students access to outdoor spaces for breaks from their study routine.

The park district has reduced the hourly rate and is charging $15 per hour for space rental at the Irwin Community Center, Irons Oaks Environmental and Learning Center, the H-F Ice Arena and . . .

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
