Park board hears concerns about manager changes

This time of year is normally met with a sense of anticipation and excitement. Kids are returning to school, reuniting with friends again after the summer break, meeting new teachers, preparing to learn new subjects. There are lists of supplies to buy along with backpacks and shoes and lunchboxes and new outfits.

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
