Area residents gather to celebrate the season at Holiday Lights in Homewood

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) launched a COVID-19 travel map to help inform residents of potential risks associated with traveling during the pandemic. The map indicates countries and U.S. states with increased risk of COVID-19 based on case rates.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
