Incoming freshmen invited to H-F open house Dec. 5

For the past four years, we’ve thought of the H-F Chronicle’s August print edition as our "Back to School" issue.

Content varied from year to year but we always carried stories about classes starting in a few weeks and how the start of the school year is, arguably, the most exciting time of the year. At the Chronicle we know our schools are the cornerstones of our communities.

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
