Sharing the love: Chance

Homewood police reported another car accident Thursday at the intersection of 183rd Street and Center Avenue, just  two weeks after an accident there took the life of a young driver.

Police said the call of an accident came in at approximately 2:06 p.m. When officers and fire department personnel arrived on the scene, they found a white Chevy on the north side of the 1200 block of 183rd . . .

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
