Homewood trustees to consider ordinance changes to align with new state cannabis law

The deadline for purchasing Homewood vehicle stickers was  Friday, July 31, but Mayor Richard Hofeld announced in his weekly update video on Thursday that residents who miss the deadline can still avoid the $25 late fee.

Anyone who places their application and payment in the drop box in front of village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road, by 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, will not be assessed a late fee.

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
