St. Paul’s hosts Open Mic Night

As the state relaxed its pandemic restrictions last month, Gloria Jean’s Coffees in Homewood continued its good neighbor “chillin” campaign and offered expanded hours.

Gloria Jean’s owners are doing their part to help customers stay safe by offering free face coverings to drive-through customers ordering from the assortment of “Chillers” specialty drinks. PPE masks will be offered while supplies last at 18322 S. Governors Highway.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
