DeLuca to seek re-election for state representative

We had just finished one of our regular walks at the Vollmer Road forest preserve and were heading to the parking lot when the man stopped us.

He was about my age, African American and dressed for a workout. He asked to speak to us about what was happening in the country.

George Floyd had been killed in police custody in Minneapolis a couple days before. We told him that two of our sons live in the Twin Cities and he said he’d lived up there, too. Like most of us, he was very upset by the video . . .
