Homewood approved ordinance to amend enterprise zone

All business are being hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, but Homewood and Flossmoor residents are doing what they can to help all our small businesses in survive the crisis.

The Chronicle is no exception. We saw advertising revenues drop for our April print edition and we expect May and June, at least, will be difficult months.

But it is more important than ever to get accurate, clear information to people, and we're doing our best to keep local, county and state news flowing so we all know quickly what we need . . .

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
