The DQ crash report and how we determine what makes ‘news’

The COVID-19 pandemic insisted on cornering the market on our attention as spring 2020 got under way, but it didn't have it all its own way. Flowers still bloomed. Kids still played catch in the park. People biked and walked and generally enjoyed the sunshine between storms. There were more face coverings in evidence, but otherwise, in many ways, it looked like spring in H-F always looks.

Fall events

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
