Olympia Fields Park District to host Underground Railroad Tour Sept. 19

Homewood village hall will open up with normal business hours on June 3, but there will be guidelines for visitors and employees.

Anyone entering the building will be required to wear a mask. Hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the halls and offices.

“Right now, it will be business as usual on June 3,” Homewood Marketing Director Jennifer Quirke said. “We’ll adjust as we see fit.”

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
