Thornton police issued an alert Monday on social media asking the public to report any public sightings of the owner of Shelly’s Pancake House and Mangia Tutto restaurants in Thornton. Police said the owner, Carmen Leato, has been operating under the false identity of “Raul Castanada.” Leato is listed on the Illinois Sex Offender Registry as a violent predatory child sex offender.
