Chick-fil-A plans 100 hires for new Homewood location

Hiring is under way for the new Chick-fil-A restaurant at at 17450 Halsted St. in Homewood.

The company plans to hire nearly 100 people for the restaurant’s team. 

Company officials expect to hold a grand opening in September. 

Chick-fil-A team members are eligible for the chain’s initiative called Remarkable Futures, which provides $14.5 million in annual scholarships. Ranging from $2,500 to $25,000, the scholarships are based on leadership, community involvement and academic achievement.

Skyler Wasson was named as the owner/operator of the Homewood location. Wasson previously served as an interim manager in the Chicagoland area and is in charge of filling full-time and part-time positions in all areas of the restaurant, including leadership development, hospitality, catering, training and marketing. 

Each position will include benefits such as scholarships for continuing education. In addition, Chick-fil-A restaurant team members can expect to have Sundays off, flexible schedules and the family atmosphere fostered at the restaurant.
