Stop by the science center at 18022 Dixie Highway between 5 and 9 p.m. to mark the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing by Apollo 11 astronauts. The event is free, but registrations are being accepted at https://forms.gle/hk9aQafo1Tmr8GcD6.

The program, designed for all ages, includes watching video footage of the moon landing and astronaut Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the surface of the moon.

In the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) Studio, participants can make their own lunar landing module or landing rover.

Professors from Prairie State College will be on hand to help guests get a close-up look of the moon through a solar telescope or high-powered binoculars.

Prizes will be awarded for best dressed contestants in the outer space costume contest. Don’t forget to save a memory with a photo at the moon landing mural.
