Metra unveiled the final version of a Metra Electric Line schedule change that was made necessary by the implementation of the new Positive Train Control (PTC) safety system. The new schedule, which can be viewed here, will take effect when the line is restored to full service following the coronavirus crisis.

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
