Flossmoor police investigate vehicle break-ins

Flossmoor police are investigating a number of vehicle break-ins that occurred between 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, and 5 a.m. on Friday, June 7.

The break-ins were reported in the area of Braeburn and Brassie avenues.

According to reports, 14 vehicles were targeted, including three that had damage to windows.

Nine of the 13 vehicles had been left unlocked.

Three of the incidents were reported by the vehicle owners while the remainder were discovered by patrol units surveying the area, police said.

Police urged the community to double check vehicles and report any missing items or vehicle damage.

The Flossmoor criminal investigations unit also responded to the scene and conducted vehicle examinations but were unable to recover any latent fingerprints that were suitable for comparison.

Anyone in this area with a security camera is encouraged to review the footage from the time period the break-ins occurred and come forward with any information that may help the investigation.

Residents can call the Flossmoor Police Department non-emergency number, 708-957-4500, with information.

Police also reminded residents to lock vehicles and avoid leaving any valuable items inside them.
