100-plus vendors expected for Homewood’s Artisan Street Fair

The 2019 Homewood Artisan Street Fair is expanding its footprint and boasting more than 100 artists from around the Chicagoland area and the Midwest on June 7 and 8. 
 
The fair also features live music, a food court and food trucks and a maker-space tent packed with activities for all ages. Hours will be from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

The fair also features live music, a food court and food trucks and a maker-space tent packed with activities for all ages. Hours will be from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
 

Vendors will close up shop at 6 p.m. on Saturday for the after party featuring music and food from 6 to 9 p.m. 
 
The Homewood Artisan Street Fair takes place on Martin Avenue between Ridge Road and Hickory Road. It is free and open to the public.
 
Music will begin at 4 p.m. Friday with Homewood’s own one-man-band, MG Bailey. The award-winning McDowell Brothers will perform from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. and the evening will conclude with Nasty Snacks, a nine-piece funk band, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The event resumes Saturday at 10 a.m. with Butterfield Creek, Homewood’s newest pop, folk and bluegrass group. At noon is Timeless, performing hits from the past to the present. From 4 to 6 p.m. is the Homewood favorite Work in Progress performing Americana, folk and blues.
 

Rocking the after party will be Homewood favorite Not My Dad.
 
Also on June 8 fair goers will get to spend time in the maker-space featuring activities for all ages with hands-on events, including bottle cap art with the Homewood Science Center, cardboard mosaic with The Art Corner, painting for your garden with Doughney Designs and paper garland with Loulou Belle.
 
“The new Artisan Street Fair was an overwhelming success last year and we are excited to expand this year’s offerings,” said Homewood Mayor Richard Hofeld. “All our events are an open invitation for everyone to come and enjoy the Homewood community. The Artisan Street Fair is the perfect way to start the summer.”
 
The Homewood Artisan Street Fair vendors are curated by Dodi Wians and Lisa Komorowski of Homewood’s own Loulou Belle.
