Irwin Park community picnic encourages neighborly connection

Gov. JB Pritzker provided an update on Tuesday about the state’s current testing and hospital capacity and laid out measures to increase that capacity to meet the anticipated need as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
