IHSA inducts local ref into basketball hall of fame

The Illinois Department of Public Health today announced 163 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including the death of a Cook County woman in her 70s.  

Three additional counties are now reporting cases: Adams, Christian and McLean counties.     

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 585 cases in 25 counties in Illinois. Cases have occurred in people ages 3 to 99. The public can view the number of cases by county on the Receive a 3-day free trial of unlimited digital access.

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
