The Flossmoor School Board swore in two newly elected members and one incumbent member on Monday. The candidates ran uncontested for three four-year terms in the April 2 election. Michelle Hoereth of Flossmoor was re-elected to the board with 2,806 votes, while David Linnear of Flossmoor was elected with 2,724 votes and Christina Popolla-Vlietstra of Chicago Heights was elected with 2,777 votes, according to official results.

Longtime board members Merle Huckabee and John Simmons did not run for re-election.
Superintendent Dana Smith reported that the second round of interviews for Serena Hills principal will be conducted Tuesday and that he will present his recommendation to the board on May 13.
Additionally, the board approved a $27,800 contract with HEPA, Inc. for asbestos abatement in a room of the Normandy Villa Administration Building.
