Student walkout brings messages of strength

For the third year in a row, local rock band Not My Dad will help the community celebrate St. Patrick's Day with ShamROCK, a party from 8 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, at Culture, 18029 Dixie Highway in Homewood.

This will be the second year the event will raise money for the Homewood Arts Council . . .

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
