Stephen Sondheim composed the music for this, his first musical. The show has been called a nonstop laugh fest as it sets the scenes in vaudeville style. It’s a fast-paced, witty and irreverent production about Pseudolus, a crafty slave, who struggles to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan named Philia for his young master, Hero, in exchange for freedom. The plot twists and turns with cases of mistaken identity, slamming doors and a showgirl or two.
The cast includes Jenn Crick, Scott Fimoff and Kanoa Mulling of Homewood, with Angela Marciszewski of Flossmoor as music director.
