A man brandishing a firearm robbed the Dollar Tree store in Homewood on Saturday, April 6, according to Homewood Police. At 5:13 p.m., police received a report of a robbery at the store, 17510 Halsted St., Homewood. Witnesses told police that a black man with a medium build entered the store and visibly showed a firearm while demanding money from the store clerk.

A man brandishing a firearm robbed the Dollar Tree store in Homewood on Saturday, April 6, according to Homewood Police.
At 5:13 p.m., police received a report of a robbery at the store, 17510 Halsted St., Homewood. Witnesses told police that a black man with a medium build entered the store and visibly showed a firearm while demanding money from the store clerk.
According to witnesses, the man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap. As he exited the store, the offender grabbed a customer’s purse, according to Homewood Police Deputy Chief Denise McGrath.
After leaving the store, he fled the scene in a blue vehicle.
