Cell phone taken in Flossmoor robbery

An armed robbery was reported to Flossmoor police on Tuesday. Police said that a male victim reported that he was walking in the 1000 block of Leavitt Avenue when he was approached by a suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded his cell phone. After the victim surrendered his phone, the male suspect fled the area in a vehicle.

Police said that a male victim reported that he was walking in the 1000 block of Leavitt Avenue when he was approached by a suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded his cell phone. After the victim surrendered his phone, the male suspect fled the area in a vehicle.
 
The incident took place at about 5:30 p.m. on April 2 in an area just west of downtown Flossmoor and north of Flossmoor Road.
 
Flossmoor police notified the public about the incident in an email alert on Thursday.
 
There were no injuries and no other subsequent, similar incidents were reported, police said. 
 
“While the investigation is ongoing, detectives have identified a person of interest after reviewing video footage from the area,” the alert says. “Detectives will continue to review video as the investigation continues.”
