Homewood-Flossmoor High School District 233 was awarded a $1.8 million 2020 Property Tax Relief Program (PTRP) grant from the Illinois State Board of Education.
To receive the grant, the school board agreed to abate taxes by that amount in both 2020 and 2021. Property owners will see a tax reduction on their fall tax bills.
This is the second grant H-F has received. The state is offering the grants to help offset the high tax burden. The school board has abated approximately $5 million in taxes over 2019 and 2020 tax bills . . .
