Parker principal resigns, replacement named

Six village employees will take the oath of office at the Homewood village board meeting on Tuesday, and trustees will consider six appointments to village advisory committees. The oath of office will be administered to police officers Brian Krueger and Andy Gasbarro; firefighter/paramedics Richard Qualter, Edgar Serna and Tom Schlesinger; and utility clerk LaShawna Cook. Trustees will also consider appointing Jacqueline Burgess, Odell Fields Jr. and Sally MacDonald to the Ethics Commission; Valerie Warnsby to the Economic Development Committee; and Keith E. Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
