Nate Steiner rides for adventure on community paths, H-F park district trails

Two student organizations at Homewood-Flossmoor High School are conducting a children’s book drive as an act of service project in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Jan. 20. The National Honor Society (NHS) and Friends of the H-F Library club are sponsoring the book drive to benefit Bernie’s Book Bank of Chicago. Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
