A sampling of other news: Bids for H-F High School’s arts expansion came in over budget. H-F also celebrated teacher Catherine Ross-Cook, who received the coveted Golden Apple Award. Parker Junior High’s principal resigned. Panera opened its new Homewood location on 175th Street. Old Gold Jewelry celebrated 40 years in business. Homewood and Flossmoor residents joined Glenwood residents in opposing the development of a power plant just north of Joe Orr Road.
