No criminal charges will be filed following the stabbing death of a Hazel Crest man in Flossmoor on the night of Nov. 25. Flossmoor Police Chief Tod Kamleiter said Monday that the death of Jordan Averyheart, 28, was determined by both police and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office to be an act of self-defense. Police and state’s attorney’s staff interviewed five witnesses to the killing, Kamleiter said. All were present at about 8 p.m. in an apartment on the 2500 block of Central Drive in downtown Flossmoor. The witnesses concurred . . .
