No criminal charges will be filed following the stabbing death of a Hazel Crest man in Flossmoor on the night of Nov. 25. Flossmoor Police Chief Tod Kamleiter said Monday that the death of Jordan Averyheart, 28, was determined by both police and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office to be an act of self-defense. Police and state’s attorney’s staff interviewed five witnesses to the killing, Kamleiter said.
