17th annual Chocolate Fest to feature bake-off, truffle demonstration

Marian Catholic High School will hold an Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, at the school, 700 Ashland Ave., Chicago Heights. The event is especially intended for prospective seventh and eighth grade students and parents who are considering choosing Marian Catholic for their children’s education. Administrators, faculty, staff and students will be on hand to provide information about Marian Catholic’s college preparatory curriculum including 23 AP and 26 honors courses, award winning fine arts and athletic programs, and over 40 clubs and activities.  Students and faculty will lead . . .

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
